Nature Trail

Historic Hope’s Nature Trail is a system of nine interconnected walking paths that wind through the 28-acre Hope Forest and across the surrounding grounds of Historic Hope’s 45-acre site. Individual routes vary in length from approximately 1,200 to 2,800 feet and can be combined to create longer walks through the property.

The paths are surfaced with packed gravel. Benches and picnic tables are located throughout the trail system.

Trail visitors should park at the Roanoke-Chowan Heritage Center & Museum, where a trail map is also located.

Historic Hope’s Nature Trail is open daily during daylight hours and is free to the public.
